Nine-month study abroad - Sevilla, Spain (2009-10)
~
As an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, I studied science, history, and film and video. Additionally, I was a student-athlete for two years with the Michigan Men's Rowing team.
Before college, I spent nine months in Sevilla, Spain through a study abroad program. This experience, which took place during my senior year of high school, transformed my worldview and laid the foundation for adulthood.

Story
Born in Wahiawa, Hawaii, I spent my early childhood in Tennessee and formative years in Northern Michigan. Although a born-and-bred American, I identify closely with my Swiss heritage and history. (My father emigrated to the US from Switzerland in the 1980s.)
After studying abroad in 2009, I resided in Spain a decade later for just over two years. These immersive living experiences in Spain led to a deep understanding of Spanish and European cultures, and I consider España a second home.
